Adaptive Clearing Help

Post by Flyingjack43 »

I am having issues with understanding adaptive clearing. See the pictures on an explanation on what I am trying to do.

You probably want to switch from outside to inside. However, I tried something similar and the result was not satisfactory until I added a thin bottom plate. I then selected the surface of the bottom plate and it worked like a charm.

Like so?
I would like to come in from the outside at full length of cut rather than helix in.

Will get you in the ball park if you feel like removing the outer profile gcode created or give you an Idea of how to create the model you need to get the cut you want. I selected the green surface and did an adaptive path. I then selected outside which I circled in red in the image. That pretty much all I did. You didn't specify if the front nose of that part was already milled out or not. I sketched a rectangle and padded that sketch. Then I drew the cut out sketch and removed that from the pad I created.
