Re: Known Issues Comments
I am editing always the same post and it doesn't update the time stamp.

Re: Known Issues Comments
You can get a 0.19 running on Big Sur if you dare to compile it. See https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 10#p441848
Re: Known Issues Comments
Is it meanwhile the current master? I want to use that, because I follow the current Sketcher development.qwerty_f wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:31 pm You can get a 0.19 running on Big Sur if you dare to compile it. See https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 10#p441848

Re: Known Issues Comments
No. And honestly I'm even stuck in re-installing the version I got up wirh vejmarie's help. But he seems to be off for Christmas and without support I won't get towards Error 2 (I just don't want to dive into homebrew bejond doctor and install...).
Re: Known Issues Comments
You might wish to update the current issues list to show that if you follow the Mini-Conda build instructions (from that same thread, or from the Dr. Vax instructions), you can get the current master.chrisb wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 11:33 pmIs it meanwhile the current master? I'm still curious to know if the people who create the "official" Github nightly builds are aware of the Big Sur issue, and if they have thoughts (or need help) trying to resolve it.
Re: Known Issues Comments
Is this a good link to point to: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 50#p449550?
A forum discussion does not seem to be a good medium for such instructions, because there are often small things which have to be adjusted in later posts. Can somebody who had run successfully through the procedure create a wiki page for it? Editing that would keep the same page current.

This is a better, more updated and streamlined set of instructions: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... &start=112chrisb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 7:00 pm Is this a good link to point to: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 50#p449550?
I agree. Irv does link to a web page with instructions from that post.A forum discussion does not seem to be a good medium for such instructions, because there are often small things which have to be adjusted in later posts. Re: Known Issues Comments
FYI -- as of (at least) https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... -conda.dmg, the 0.19_pre release from Github builds can once again work on Big Sur!
That issue can be removed from the known issues list.

Re: Known Issues Comments
Thanks, I have marked it as solved and will remove it when 0.19 stable is ready.

Re: Known Issues Comments
Should the info about solution to issues with nvidia drivers on Linux(ubuntu based) be added to known issues?
I've had problems with it before (https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 10#p542322) which I thought were solved by updating nvidia drivers.
All was fine until I tried to use 0.20.26720 (Git) AppImage couple of days ago.
despite updated nvidia drivers the symptoms were the same - FreeCAD crashing while loading.
The solution turned out to be (https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 80#p546204)
I was lucky for FreeCAD to stay on long enough to be able to change preferences to "Use Software OpenGL"
This solved the problem and all is fine (but what could I do if I wasn't able to run FreeCAD long enough to do it?)
Anyway... I found the answer by searching the web and forum but didn't see the answer in Known OS specific issues (https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=30573) hence the question - should this be included (it seems common enough if you search the web....)
