Sketching an Egg

Post by wandererfan »

I made this sketch using Part primitives and DraftToSketch after I failed miserably with elliptical arcs in Sketcher.

Any hints on how to do it with Sketcher?

From wikipedia: "The shape of an egg is approximated by the "long" half of a prolate spheroid (ellipse around major)
joined to a "short" half of a roughly spherical ellipsoid, or even a slightly oblate spheroid".

How about these two ellipses?

The segments of an ellipse are a bit difficult to constrain, because one is tempted to create a coincidence constraint of the arc's endpoint and one of the axises. But thies results in redundant constraints. So you have to use the point-on-object instead.

till sketch001 all it's ok
why you don't do the rhight revolve , preaps you don't select the good axle
