Re: Manipulator WorkBench

So I accidently fell victim to this alignment bug again - I wasn’t even thinking about it as I thought it only was a bug when dealing with part containers that have a non zero placement. Only after I posted a query in the help section did it occur to me to try the reset placement command from KiCad / Stepup workbench.

I had cloned a part design body - then using the transform pulled it off to the side of the original body so they were not on top of each other. When I then tried to align the clone back on a face of the original body it went wonky (engineering term). I tried making a link instead of a clone and same issue

Resetting the placement with that command referenced earlier and then running the alignment in the Manipulator workbench again and all was good.

I’m thinking it might be a good idea to place this stepup workbench command in the manipulator workbench on a custom toolbar as I can see it getting used a lot.

I've tried that already, but it seems that only the last feature is moved.
I have opened an issue here as a (todo) reminder
@easyw-fc any time to to work on this before v0.20 is released?

Hello @easyw-fc -- in anticipation of FreeCAD 0.20 I've submitted a short PR to your repo tweaking the package.xml file. It's a minor change to make sure that FreeCAD finds the right icon for the WB.

@uwestoehr there is nothing new... I just adapted the tool to be F0.20 compatible

I'm working on restoring a broken feature here:

thanks for asking :D
