"META" plugged AI into wikipedia translations aimed at dual-language wiki Editors very recently

Post by llll »

Please test this if you != monolingual.
The question remains how automatic is this tool for x language? It may be very automatic.

" An open-source language translation system from FAIR capable of translating 200 languages between each other. 50 billion parameters."

"the model can translate 55 African languages"

"an average improvement of 44 percent over other state-of-the-art translation models. For some African and Indian languages, the improvement reportedly went as high as 70 percent. '

From META:
"Translating Wikipedia for everyone.
Helping volunteer editors make information available in more languages
The technology behind the NLLB-200 model, now available through the Wikimedia Foundation’s Content Translation tool, is supporting Wikipedia editors as they translate information into their native and preferred languages.
The open-source NLLB-200 model will also help researchers and interested Wikipedia editor communities build on our work."

"You can access the tool from Special:ContentTranslation from Wikipedia in any language. Accessing it for the first time will also enable the tool for that wiki."

"The tool is targeted to users that know two or more languages."

"The new version is now the default" translation editor

How to plug FreeCAD Wiki into this translation tool? - that's a good question

Enabling Content Translation
At the moment Content Translation is a beta feature. To use it you need to enable the feature in your beta preferences. To do this, log in to your account, click Beta at the top of the page, check Content Translation, and click Save, at the bottom of the page.

Below was written before META plugged in, so the question still remains how automatic is this service for x language?

"Publishing machine-translated articles is not the intention of Content Translation, and it is actively discouraged to publish articles without modification and review. Users are shown warnings if they try to publish unmodified content."
