Why can't I pocket this

New user here.
I am modeling a connector (see photo)
I used a datum plane for the location of the two holes. When I click on the pocket button, the pockets do not appear.
Why?
Is there a better way to put a hole in the cylinder than using the datum plane?

The pocket has to be reversed.

Yes: omit the DatumPlane and place the sketch directly on XZ plane. Make the pocket symmetric through all.

Why are you using a DP?

You could just use a STD plane, it would then be clear about why the pocket doesn't work.

Tick reverse, or set reverse to true in properties tab.

I would redo it that way :

I remove the datum plane and use the XZ plane to sketch the holes, click Symmetic to plane. It worked. Thanks.

Thanks.

I used the DP because I watch a Youtube video on how to put a hole in a cylinder.
That worked.

What is "DP"?

(I deleted your double post, which you could also have done yourself as long as there is no response)

Yes, DP = Datum Plane.

The youtube video I watched was to use the DP to cut a hole at an angle to the cylinder.

As with many (perhaps most?) things on interweb (and in particular YT) you have to be very selective what you believe and who do you follow ;)
There are some excellent videos on YT but there is also a lot of total rubbish
