hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
doing some translations under Crowdin, it appears that some of the original texts are restricted to people having special rights under Crowdin. It must historical reasons.
if like me, as a common translator, you are looking for the word "Thickness" corresponding to the command Part Design --> Apply a dress up feature --> Thickness, you will not find it.
@kaktus gave me a help to identify and to change it, he has extra rights.
here is only one example but they are plenty of I don't remember. @yorik or @Kunda1, can you switch the access to these words, expressions for the common translators? I know it is too late for the 0.20.1, there is no rush.
thank you

Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
Hi.
I can confirm for some time the problem of hidden source strings has increased.
Maybe it is a deliberate action of the project manager that we do not know about. Or maybe it is some kind of bug.
In any case, there is an increasing number of strings that are still in use and that receive the hidden attribute.
People with "translator" privileges do not know about their existence.
You can read about several such cases on the section of the forum for translators.

Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
Seems like the wrong forum for this topic?
Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
I have never heard of "hidden" words on crowdin... Are you sure it hasn't been locked by a proofreader? Can you give a URL to one of these locked text?
Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
Moved to Open Discussion for now. We need a "translations" subforum I think...
Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
I've pointed this out before.

So far, there's a lack of causal power and there's approval.

@yorik IIRC this one is viewable only by approvers : https://crowdin.com/translate/freecad/569/en-fr#177362
Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
an other example, I'm looking for the word Path appearing in Tessalation windows for the Gmsh mesher in the workbench Mesh and nope, I don't find it. This word has been translated at one time but the translation doesn't match here and I want to modify it.
Re: hidden commands under Crowdin for the common translator
Indeed, that's the first time I see that... I think that reinforces even more my opinion that proofreading is sometimes hindering translators, actually.openBrain wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 10:23 am @yorik IIRC this one is viewable only by approvers : https://crowdin.com/translate/freecad/569/en-fr#177362
I'm not sure what to do with that, but this definitely needs a serious discussion
