[feat. req] Drafting/Arch. Click to confirm line length.

Post by llll »

If line is selected; a distance entered; and LMB clicked --- the line should be drawn the distance specified in CLI. Instead in freecad, its the distance you clicked, despite having just specified the length ?

Normally in 2D CAD, once the length of line is specified, "enter" is not needed. The GUI previews the line at the specified length, then you position the mouse to confirm the snaps you want have preference.

Often the last thing you do is move the mouse to make sure the correct snaps have "settled". Then it's click to confirm e.g. the orthogonal line has settled, LMB to confirm.
It's very tedious at this stage to then go back to the keyboard to press enter. The mouse click == enter on all drafting programs, except FreeCAD.

Imagine jumping back and fourth from mouse to keyboard every line you drew. Not ideal.

THnx
