Try FreeCAD from the Snap Store: Stable releases (in latest/stable) & daily builds (in latest/edge). Supports installing additional python packages via pip!

@Kunda1 the snap store page uses this very old freecad icon:

could you change it to use the correct icon?

I may be able to do it via mobile. Can you link the current FC icon here if you don't mind?

I am not sure what the correct icon is. But "this very old icon" is currently used for freecad.exe on Windows.

that was also an oversight and future windows builds should use the correct icon too now: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/7956
even so snap packages are for linux where the newer icon has been in use for years.

Heads-up, I'm still working to resurrect my manjaro partition after a catastrophic update. I'm currently using a rescue disk to boot in to my laptop. This makes it difficult for me to help maintain the Snap updates etc...

So this is a request for assistance to help keep the dependencies for Snap 'edge' up to date and other important issues that crop up.
