[Solved] Freecad portable

Led me to Freecad on Github. I see there is a portable version (FreeCAD-0.20.2-WIN-x64-portable-2.zip). I have not unzipped or tried yet.
Before I mess up my current install, can the two both be on the same machine so I can try it and see the differences.

Or would there be conflicts? Current is:

Code: Select all

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.29177 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-20
Hash: 68e337670e227889217652ddac593c93b5e8dc94
Python 3.8.10, Qt 5.15.2, Coin 4.0.1, Vtk 8.2.0, OCC 7.6.2
Locale: English/United States (en_US)
Installed mods:
  * Help 1.0.3
Also I ran a virus check with norton on the portable, all good.

There won't be a conflict, but both use the same config file and directory.

the portable version is the exact same binary as the one installed by the installer, the only difference is the installer adds shortcuts, file associations and stuff like that.
