PPA - Where?

Post by caltrop »

I can not find the PPA

what I did find does not work
ppa:freecad-maintainers/freecad-stable

the Mint Repository is sorely out dated

I will NOT do FLATPAK or SNAPS
I don't think SNAPS will work in Mint right now
but FLATPAKS do, but I don't

See https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=69055

If you don't want flatpaks, this is a good opportunity to contribute and get those PPA builds up to speed.

Snaps appear to work on Mint: https://snapcraft.io/install/snap-store/mint
Try FreeCAD from the Snap Store: Stable releases (in latest/stable) & daily builds (in latest/edge). Supports installing additional python packages via pip!

use appimage or compile yourself, you can try using the ppa but I seriously don't recommend it as it is unmaintained, very outdated on the stable repo and kinda broken in the daily repo. Otherwise, accept fate and use either flatpak or snap, they are not the devil. (or go and fix the ppa if you have the skill)
