[solved] Windows 11 install and run error
Install looks good, but on trying to start the app, I see it run to a script then fail then disappear.
I am a windows 11 beta tester, would that have any thing to do with the no start?

Re: Windows 11 install and run error
We need more info. What is your system, what installer did you use, did you install by default only for the current user or for all users, what is the error message you get...?
And why are you on Win 11 beta. Win 11 final ids out, maybe the bug does not appear with Win 11 final.

Re: Windows 11 install and run error
I started Beta testing with VB4 and Windows 98 OS. I'm sort of used to it. (I'm old enough to remember Windows 3.2 (Still have a copy) and the original Basic.)
Windows 11 Beta, Ryzen processor on a Tomahawk 550 MB, 24 G Ram, and SSD for boot drive.
FreeCAD-0.20.0-WIN-x64-installer-1.exe installer
The program starts and shows a splash screen. Text flashes across the bottom of that screen.
Text states FreeCAD Start script then the screen disappears and does not show in the task manager.
Thats it, nothing more.

Re: Windows 11 install and run error
run freecad.exe -l in cmd and upload here the log file, I doubt it's really about the beta. Could be a graphics driver issue.
Re: Windows 11 install and run error
Display adapters: Nvidia GT710 and GTX1050Ti.
I ran the exe with the -l and the same thing happens.

Re: Windows 11 install and run error
please upload the freecad log file, not windows log, it should have been created at %APPDATA%\FreeCAD\FreeCAD.log
Re: Windows 11 install and run error
I am guessing there is a bit of confusion with terminology. Instead of "beta" it likely that the OP is running the so-called "developer preview." Those developer versions are actually newer than the latest released versions.
I just got a new computer with Windows 11 Pro and a fairly high DPI display. I generally only run very recent versions of FreeCAD. I compiled 0.21.30004 and fired it up on the new computer. Worked perfectly right out the the box, with a couple of non-fatal issues.
First is dealing with Hi-DPI. I have tried a bunch of stuff, but not quite there yet. This is a well-known industry-wide problem.
The FreeCAD "About" function does not pick up the correct Windows version. Yes, Windows 11 is mostly a re-skinned Windows 10, but "About" does not pick up the correct release version either. I suspect the information available to FreeCAD has moved inside Windows.
Everything else behaves just like it does on Windows 7 and Windows 10. (Yes, I still have FreeCAD on different computers. )
[Edit] I had the right idea, but the wrong terminology. The advanced versions of Windows 11 are part of the "Insider" program. Both "developer" and "beta" versions are avalable. The important thing is that all of these versions are newer than the "release" version. Some features may not work correctly, of course, and may be removed in future versions.

Interesting that it uses Webview and not Webview2.
Attached is the Freecad.Log as well as the crash log
