great thanks very much !

Strange, in this file all objects (the wall, the slab and the columns) are connected the way I would expect it (as an structural engineer). I wonder why they where not connected in the example you posted earlier? this picture ... https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 79#p272927

yes, It was concrete model and this one is steel. I examined another concrete structure and element not connected, this is a concrete example:bernd wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 2:42 pm Strange, in this file all objects (the wall, the slab and the columns) are connected the way I would expect it (as an structural engineer). Re: IFC files from structural engineering software CSI ETABS
what happens if you just change the material from concrete to steel and export again?

It's still not connected. I also changed the I section to steel Box section, but still it's not connected in both structural and Arch layout.
Re: IFC files from structural engineering software CSI ETABS
strange ... does handle ETAB concrete analysis differen from steel analysis? These gaps are really strange. What does the support says about these gaps?

Hey there,
Great,
I am asking,
Did this software suitable for export to other structural software, such as steel and concrete detailing applications?

Hello, Etabs can export analysis result in various format that in my country there are some software for detailing that use export data from ETABS:aplloniasmith4545 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:19 pm Hey there,

i have seen a video showing how a workflow looks like sending geometry from a cad program to a static program via ifc.
a lot of preparatory work is necessary to remove information that is not required.
when the dimensions come back from the structural engineer, a lot of work is necessary to adjust the geometry.
Isn't it much easier and faster as an architect to construct only lines and faces in the first step, which are then sent to the structural engineer as an ifc? when the dimensions come back from the structural engineer, the geometry is then created the first time and in the correct dimension.
