Seeking Help in creating Scripting Video Tutorials

Post by onekk »

I'm trying to create some Video Tutorial about Scripting.

Here my brand new channel link:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvllij ... Q/featured

I know that I hate videos, and I've expressed this many times, but as things are changing, I will try to make something decent.

The start video, is only a test, I have to learn very much about video creation, there are some flaws:

1) the video seems to have a "slow start" my fault, it is because I've not guessed the use of the video recording utility (OBS)
2) there is no audio, but maybe this is not a problem, as my English is horrible.

As usual, I appreciate:

1) constructive critics
2) advices about "Linux video editing" and "video tutorial creation" using Linux.

Regards

Carlo D.

OK, I've seen some problems:

1) video quality is very bad, as it seems that YouTube will resize video in 639x360 (or at least this is what the info says) so the recording is scaled and the screencast is trashed, making text almost unreadable.

2) Even in the "full screen" mode quality is not improving

3) but 639x360 is way too small to contain anyting interesting when doing a screen capture and resizing it's a nightmare when dealing with text as the result is blurry and almost unreadable.

But I don't know enough YouTube, so I ask here:

1) There is a way to obtain a decent resolution, 800x600 at least that permit to record and show on YT a screencast without resizing? (No money to spend so it must be Free of charge)

2) If there is not a way, what could be some decent solutions, I could make screenshots and recreate a video, but is time consuming as my intention is to make short tutorial on some arguments:

- Internal Editor Settings
- Preferences editing
- Python Console hints (the test video already on YT)
- Navicube "fonts unreadable" solution (i.e modifying setting to add a proper font instead of the default one)

TIA and Regards
