Freecad 0.20 missing centermarks by default

Post by kwhh.st »

Hello to all,
first of all, Techdraw is a wonderfull tool in FreeCad. Congratulations to the designers.
But now I have a problem since i use version 0.20:
I cannot get centermarks by default.
Since several weeks I'm looking for a way how to get centermarks by default when I use TechDraw.
Is there a way how to do this? In older versions like 0.19 I got it.
Thanks for any useful answer.
Kurt

I don’t think centerlines were ever automatic in TechDraw. Maybe in its predecessor, Drawing Workbench.

Preferences->TechDraw->Annotation->Show/Print-CenterMark.

The question is whether the OP is talking about the actual centerline feature: TechDraw FaceCenterLine or the small center marks that appear automatically.

You are right; and I have never seen them created in TechDraw automatically.

@kwhh.st, please correct the typo in the first subject of the topic. Others may search something similar.

In case it helps someone else.

I had been looking for the reason that I did not get the center cross on circles in TechDraw. Everything was set correctly in TechDraw preferences. When a view is inserted onto a sheet there is a dashed line frame around the view with the view label at the bottom.

You can right click on a blank space of the drawing and get a context menu, and there is an item Toggle Frames. If you don't see the cross in the center of circles, click that.

I had turned off Frames and the circle center cross disappears. Maybe this topic was about center lines, I was a little confused.

I hope nobody minds me bumping this thread - I'm running into a similar problem & figured it'd be better to re-use this. Please let me know if it would be better if I made a new thread.

I'm trying to dimension circle locations in TechDraw. I've attached the project I'm working on as well as a screenshot that shows the issue directly. To summarize: I've got arc centers enabled in the workbench preferences, arc centers enabled for the particular view I'm working on (rack top dimensions), and I've made sure that frames are enabled for the drawing (rack mfg drawing).

Nevertheless, no arc centers are showing up. I can add diameter or radius dimensions to those edges, so I'm pretty sure they count as arcs. I also tried playing with the CenterScale property on the view, but still couldn't get anything to show up. I tried redrawing the page throughout the process of trying to get the center marks to show up, but it didn't appear to change anything.

Anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong?

There are no vertex ?!

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/TechDraw_Pr ... djustments
Size Adjustments
* Vertex Scale: Scale of vertex dots. Multiplier of line width.
* Center Mark Scale: Size of center marks. Multiplier of vertex size.
