Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
Hi Forum Friends!
I have a sketch of a keychain canister that I need help with converting to a standard CAD drawaing, is anyone interested? I'm willing to pay for the help I just don't know how much $ it will take?
Thanks
John

Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
Would this also be possible as a community project and you donate to the project?
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
I'm new to the site, not really sure what a "community project" is? However, if I ultimately end up with a CAD drawing, sure I'll donate? How do you determine how much the donation amount will be?
Thanks
John
Thanks

Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
A community would mean that forum members do the work together. For that it would of course be necessary that you make all necessary informations public.
We have done this before and we didn't have a fixed rate for the donation. In the end it could be seen as part for the work and part for the program.

Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
Wow! Grub, that was fast work. What do I owe you?
BTW: I was able to view the files in FreCAD 0.19, dowloaded the app last week (WIN 10), just starting the learning process
Thanks
John

Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
What is the purpose of that 1mm lip?
Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
Hi Grub,
One last favor to ask (or clarification?), when viewing the files it looks llike the "top seal" is a seaparate part from the canister body, it should all be one part. I beleive the mixup is due to my sketch, where I was attempting to emphasize the 14mm x 1mm hole/lip on the canister top?
The bottom seal should not be included, bottom cap is basically an extension to the canister's 18mm ID chamber.
If you can help me with this I'll send you a case of virtual beers
I will be donating to this site in your name.
Thanks
John

Re: Convert my sketch to a "real" drawing
Hi kisolre,
The 1mm lip is to hold in place a piece of circular semi-rigid foam.
Thanks
John
