Have you tried the Part Design workbench's fillet? It is not the same fillet tool as the one in the Part workbench. I like it better because it's parametric. I ran your script and applied the fillet tool to all edges, then played with the radius value. I can go to 0.99 without problem. At 1.0 it will fail, but reducing it below 0.99 makes it viable again.

I'll try part design vs. part work benches, a parametric fillet is always nice. I was able to fillet the uncut vesion of my last post, it's the one with the cone cut away that was the problem. So I only saw the problem with the second model when I used the box at an angle to cut away the conical part.

It's the Cut part from the attachment that shows the problem.
