Why subtractive objects helix not showing up ? [Solved]

Post by FredCailloux »

Code: Select all

OS: Windows 7 Version 6.1 (Build 7601: SP 1)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.29177 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-20
Hash: 68e337670e227889217652ddac593c93b5e8dc94
Python 3.8.10, Qt 5.15.2, Coin 4.0.1, Vtk 8.2.0, OCC 7.6.2
Locale: French/Canada (fr_CA)
A body is created with 2 additive objects and 3 subtractive objects, in that order.
The two first objects are appearing as expected.
When the third object, a subtractive groove is added it seems to work fine.
When the fourth attribute, a subtractive pocket is added it seems to work fine.
When the fifth attribute, a subtractive helix is added, it does not appear but no error is generated.
I struggle to find out why the subtractive helix does not appear, and how to correct the problem.
No error is generated nor any kind of message to that effect.

Can someone pls take a look at this MF_SpotCover.FCStd file ? Thanks

Great results only comes with great understanding. Great memory is just an illusion.

sktThreadNut must not go up to the y-axis. Thius leads to self intersections, which are not allowed. Cut the center with an appropriate cylinder.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Answer similar to a previous question of mine, which was properly answered. I should have thought about it, damn !

The cutting form should be as small as possible because helix is very heavy in computation and file.
So you need a simple pocket before the subtractive helix.
