CSG is a methodology, as is feature based modeling. BREP can be used to define the shapes involved for both, as can meshes.

And yes, PartWB can do more than just CSG, but simple shapes and booleans are the heart of PartWB.

The document I was referring to is called "FreeCAD Assembly 4 Workbench" which I cannot find on the Wiki and may have got from Github?

It is the overview document which was produced by Zolko-123. I have not been able to find it again but it is showing to be applicable to version 0.12.3

Perhaps someone else can find it and upload the relevant link?

The following phrase occurs under the first picture-

Please Note: only part and body containers at the root of a document... etc

Hence my question about the difference between part and body containers.

Regards

If the Assembly4 workbench is installed:
Tools > Addon Manager > select Assembly4 and it will take you to all of Zolko's documentation.

Thanks for uploading the github stuff

I am not sure how github works but the relevant document was present when
I scrolled down below the other stuff.

Hope that others can see where my question came from below the first picture.

This is just a limitation of asm4, in the files that will be imported the objects you want to import have to be at the root of the tree, that means not inside any container, this is what happens normally so you shouldn't have to worry about it. The assembly itself will always be a Part container (in asm4) but you shouldn't create it as a regular Part container but using asm4's command "New Model", the assembly can include Bodies or other Part containers.
