Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help me.
I have created a part and added Shoestring text to it, all good so far.
I have moved the shoestring text into the part body and I can pad it no problem, but for the life of me I cannot pocket it.
Unable to attach a FreeCad file as it is apparantly too large a file
Any help greatly apprecated
Regards
Phil

What's the name of the font you are using, have you tried some other fonts just to prove if it's the issue?

< 1 Mb.
you can simplify your model using fewer letters.
Pocket reversed ?
Re: I can pad shapestring text but cannot pocket it.
Typical issue with fonts.
Fonts are art. And thus may not be closed shapes, may have self intersections, etc. Great for art, bad for modeling.

You can check fonts using FontForge, which can also repair some common errors.

True that. But, in some cases, it can be more work than selecting some other font.

Of course! The important thing from FreeCAD's point of view is, that often the font is the culprit.
