Can't make subtractive loft (SOLVED)

Post by himvas »

FreeCAD 0.20
Windows 7

See attachment file - I want to create subtractive loft from 'Sketch001' to 'Sketch002', but get error 'TopoDS::Shell'

What I do wrong ?

Also, is it possible to place centers of circles in 'Sketch001' and 'Sketch002' on one axe, so moving one circle move another?

The subtractive loft works if you do one hole at a time.

More detail is in the wiki:

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/PartDesign_SubtractiveLoft

In particular see the note at the bottom, It is not possible to loft disjoint or crossing loops.

It's only possible to Loft one form to one form. Here you try to loft 2 form to 2 forms : how FC can know which one will loft with which one ?

(a form can be 2 enclosed lines but not 2 separated lines).

Your sketches have no visible axe according to your dimensions.
A symmetry around a vertical axis ?

Sketcher_External can help you to catch the centers from sketch001 to be used inside sketch002.

PartDesign_Mirrored ?
You can also use the countersink of a PartDesign_Hole.

Thanks, I realize about two circles in one sketch.

I need exact sizes of circles on both sides of part, so 'Hole' isn't suited.

About centers of circles:
In new example I placed datum line. Is it possible to adjust centers of circles to this line (or to something else), so the change line's position changes the positions of circles?
For now centers of circles independently constrained as distance to point (0,0) on XY-plane and I need change both accordingly if I need to move loft.
I tried Sketcher_external, but don't find what to add as 'anchor' for circles.

Is it possible to adjust centers of circles to this line
yes of course, you activate the DatumLign, you use the "external ref" tool it will show you the point where the line crosses the plane, all you have to do is align it, of course there is no no X Y dimensions
