Edit>Pref>Import/Export seemingly redundant entries

Post by NuriEv »

For you all to take a look at, if you please can.
I couldn't find specific mention of this, so it may just be a figment of a possible local mess of mine.
I'd appreciate any thoughts / comments on this.

I suspect that some WB is interfering maybe CADExchanger

Thanks to all for checking this, and for the suggestions.

I tried the same on a fresh Linux install, and things were normal indeed.
(Why didn't I think of it first off, in the first place)

I have no clue as to how FC goes about its session configurations. I have used/tried several builds on the same drive over time. Flatpak version worked fine, so it probably uses different paths for its configs? I don't know.

I went ahead and deleted ".Freecad" in my home directory just to try. Made no difference, the redundancies were still there.

This was happening before I'd installed the CadExchanger, but uninstalled it just in case... Again, made no difference, the redundancies were still there.

This seemingly is a non-issue. I might try cleaning up stuff on my disk, following hunches, only for curiosity's sake.

The subject is so far covered only as a record, in case it may be of some use if anyone else might run into the same thing.

Thanks again to all.

This location was used by older versions, 0.20 and above follow the XDG specification, see the table with the new paths here:Release_notes_0.20#Core

Thank you adrianinsaval. Very useful point. Got to do my best to grasp more of this awesome body of work, and the wealth of information that comes with it.
Awesome FC community deeply impresses me.

An update:

Uninstalling Design456 WB solved the redundant tabs issue in Prefs>Import/Export.
Consistently repeatable across several Linux distros.
Thanks.

@mariwan
^this is the Design456 dev if I'm not mistaken
If there is no response here on the forum it's probably best to create an issue at the wb repo: https://github.com/MariwanJ/Design456
