Hi, there. First time listener, first time caller.
I'm pretty new to FreeCAD. Still bashing my head against the desk a lot.
Here's what I'm dealing with:
I export a floor plan from Sketchup as DXF.
I import the DXF into FreeCAD.
I select all the 'Shape" objects in the Tree View
In the Draft workbench I click the button marked "Convert bidirectionally between draft objects and sketches"; A Sketch appears in the Tree View
I delete the shape objects.
I switch to the Sketcher Workbench and open the sketch for editing.
I attempt to draw new lines but the "Fix a point" constraint symbol doesn't appear when I hover over the edge of an existing line.
I draw lines elsewhere in the sketch but those lines don't activate the constraint, either.
I smash my head against my desk in frustration.
I open a new sketch and draw some lines; the constraint works.
I turn to the forum for technical and emotional support.

Switch on Auto constraints.
And you can check your DXF import options. You can create a sketch including coincidence constraints right away.

In the sketcher task panel, in edit mode for the sketch.
