Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
Folks are discussing that 'SheetMetal' as a name is quite limiting the scope of this workbench. The 'Folding' term is getting thrown around. @shaise what do you think?

Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
I feel sheet metal is the correct term. It is used on most other CAD sw for similar set of tools.
Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
Fair enough, it's just that people are using it to bend acrylic and other mediums as well

Just was wondering how we could convey that to users learning this workbench?

Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
Indeed. Any ideas then on how to inform the user that sheet metal is just one medium that can be utilized with this wb?
Maybe at the top of the README (which is what is shown in the Addon Manager) + adding something to the package.xml ?

Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
Probably cardboard: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=49546
I also heard of someone using it for acrylic sheets: https://twitter.com/barbatronic/status/ ... 2552380416
But I also see no use to change the name. Anyone who uses freecad should be able to do this abstraction.

Re: Sheet Metal Workbench
Yet it is quite common to use sheetmetal for other material design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMjmMJSLYhk. So perhaps its kind of common knowledge?
