TechDraw angled section

Post by gsandy »

I have a plan view on a page and created a vertical and horizontal section line using "Insert Section View on Page".
How do I create a section that is at 45 degrees?

If I rotate the model 45 degrees I get the section I want but lose the original horizontal and Vertical sections!

Angling the base view is the only way I know of.

So you'd need one base view for the ortho sections and a different one for angled section

If this is a common requirement, it would make a good Feature Request.

Wouldn't that require to place the object twice, so that it becomes clear where section A is actually sectioning the object?

Does the bullet shape work now? Last I remember, it wouldn't make a projection.

I think you're stuck with using separate BaseViews for each Section for now. Don't know if that violates any standard practices.

You're the second person to ask for this. That means a Feature Request is in order.

The bullet shape does work now. The curve was made from a B Spline, I replaced it with an arc and that fixed the problem of not making a projection.

I will let you make a feature request as I don't know how to do that.
