Slider for macro photography of Insects

Post by NHSA_Rainer »

Hi,

Here my first bigger and functional device I created for a friend.

I know this is nothing spectacular compared to many projects I have seen here, but for me having started with 3D printing and FreeCAD_ding in September last year is very satisfying. I am a 69 year old retired Textile Engineer.

It took me about 4 days to compete all parts including changes and improvements and thank to the help of many experienced FreeCAD_ders I managed to finish it. I know there are many workflows but using part design and adding body after body is the most cmfortable way for me.

My friend is programming at the moment the Software for the necessary control.

Code: Select all

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.29177 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-20
Hash: 68e337670e227889217652ddac593c93b5e8dc94
Python 3.8.10, Qt 5.15.2, Coin 4.0.1, Vtk 8.2.0, OCC 7.6.2
Locale: Spanish/Latin America (es_419)
Installed mods:
  * AnimationFreeCAD 1.0.0
  * fcgear 1.81.0
  * Help 1.0.3
  * ThreadProfile 1.81.0

Here a screenshot of the piece. The cone on the rail is for the insect pin.

and below a video for testing the sliding over hours and make some adjustments. It is a simple 28BYJ-48 stepper driven using double bobbin activation for stronger torque working at 500 steps per second.

Thanks for looking and ideas are welcome.
