This is amazing. Can you open up a separate forum thread in the Open Discussion subforum to discuss this, please!?j8sr0230 wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 8:13 am I am currently working intensively with generative designs. My goal is to use FreeCAD for projects that I would normally use Rhino's Grasshopper or Blender's Geometry Nodes for. To start with, I have been working on a DualMesh implementation. With the attached scripted FreeCAD object "DualMesh", triangle meshes can be decomposed into their dual representation. If you are interested, simply download the module "DualMesh.py", move it to your macro directory and execute the following code from your FreeCAD terminal (don't forget to start by creating a new FreeCAD document):

Here a closer look at a ball bearing. The cage it gave me some trouble... It is literately a view circles and two squares all in all a very simple
structure with some circular patterns and two fillets at the end. But hey FreeCAD was fighting me as hell. However in the the end i found out
how to workaround issues... The cage, holding the balls apart shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes to make!
Any interest in this file? Don't hesitate to follow the link to the download (FreeCAD (native) and STP are provided):

Nice! Would you mind sharing the file? By reducing the number of occurrences in the patterns you could stay below the file size limit.

Unbelievable!
Imagine you don't need wings to fly. Just like Superman, all it takes for him is some stockings with the underwear
pulled over and a cape. Everyone else would need some sort of device known for the main element the wings, just
like a bird. A quad copter also falsely called drone and a gyrocopter don't have a typical wing. The rotor works very
much like a wing. And there is the flying wing itself.
Here is a vehicle that has no wings, not a rotor like a helicopter. It looks like some vessel from a scientifiction movie. It's
appearance may make you believe it is a sort of a spaceship, but not something that flies on a 50HP combustion engine!
Some Specifications from https://wainfan.co/#facetmobile:
FMX-4 Facetmobile N117WD
Length: 19 ft. 6 in. (5943,6mm)
Span: 15 ft. (4572 mm)
Empty Weight: 370 lb. (167,83 Kg)
Fuel (normal): 10 gal. (45,46 l)
Fuel (with aux): 19 gal. (86,37 l)
Gross Weight (normal): 620 lb. (281,23 Kg)
Gross Weight (max): 740 lb. (335,66 Kg)
Structure: 6061-T6 Aluminum tube
Covering: 1.6 oz Stits fabric
Engine: Rotax 503DC
Performance
Maximum Speed: 110 mph. (177 km)
Cruise Speed: 90 mph. (144 km)
Stall: no stall; stable mush. <= NOICE!
Min. Speed: Less than 30 mph. (48 km)
Rate of Climb: 750 ft/min. (228,6 m/min.)
You can find the plans for the FMX-4 in several magazines like:
Model Builder October '96 (Rubber Kit Model Plans) <=
Kitplanes Magazine February '95 (Full size Facetmobile)
Air Progress January '95 (Full size Facetmobile)
Sport Aviation October '94 (Full size Facetmobile)
Attached model is made according to the plan from Barnaby and Lynne Wainfan & Rick Dean.
Basic line drawing from Barnaby Wainfan. Drawing by Byron Calomiris 7/95. Re-inked and rearranged
by Ken Johnson 2/25/96.
Made this model on the fly, lifting body is made out of faces. To reduce file size features have
been removed. It is possible to resize the model via the link feature. Actual size is 650 x 500 mm.
Here is a link to a paper model, if you like to make it fly: https://currell.net/models/facet.htm

Re: call for screenshots - By Yorik
Hi, to celebrate the release of #FreeCAD 0.20, I made very detailed model of a FAULHABER 2342L-012CPR DC motor. PartDesign, Fasteners & FCGear WB were used, took me 2 days including disassembly & measurements. I have 2 of these motors, maybe a will make a self-balancing 2 wheels robot later
The model will be available in the FreeCAD-library (https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-library) when Obijuan merge the PR, for the moment it's in my fork.
I made a short video showing the parts: https://youtu.be/-KUMqJL786w

The Tech Workbench very useful for RC plane plans.
Here is a image, well it is a plan made using the Tech Draw Workbench. These plans are very desirable since... Well i am not old enough to know. But i saw plans like this in magazines from the 1930! This makes FreeCAD hit another discipline, RC planes . This shown plan here has actually been printed out, glued to foam and cut out, in order to glue the Depron parts together. Installing a motor, servos, hinges etc. and your park flyer is ready. That what's groining on at RC Groups. Allowing the export of SVG and PDF directly from the tech workbench is awesome, furthermore these big plans are tiled to make them fit to common home printer size. After joining the pages your plans are ready to be used as templates for the foam... very cool building process.
I also made some nice Windows icons of this plane, mostly using FreeCAD, Gimp and IconFX Portable. IconFX needs just a few clicks, it saves time if you wont Windows or MAC standard.
Visit RC groups F-22 Park Flyer here (Lots of plans and infos): https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... with-plans
(There are 430 pages and still growing)
If you would like to build one of these get the plans as PDF from here (RC Groups):
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpos ... count=6426
or here (GrabCAD):

Thanks for sharing!
May I ask how you did the print? Material, wall thickness, infill? Did you have to smooth it after printing to get a decent surface?
