selection of building part does not highlight the part in the 3d window, Is it wanted like that? is it the same with you?

Yes, the building part is basically a group, not a physical object. I don't think it should have an "existence" in the 3D view (other than its label).
But I think it would be possible to, if the building part is selected in the tree, highlight its child objects, without selecting anything. That might be a good thing to have... (one would be able to disable that, of course)
