With a point cloud from the site, you can quickly carry out a volume calculation in Freecad. something like that is used for cost accounting and is very time-consuming by hand.

I made a video about a volume calculation for my customers. If anyone else cares, here it is.
the scale is not adjusted. there was no information about the file.

Thanks for sharing.

Checkout the ArchSite wiki, which help to do similarly, though I have tried that.

...
The xyz-Geodata files from official government sites like this
https://www.geoportal-th.de/de-de/Downl ... B6hendaten
are simple text files with xyz-ccordinates of the points. Given in meters, resolution 25 m.
After meshing/importing in FC you must scale up the mesh by a factor of 1000 (when using default units mm in FC).
After upscaling the resolution is too rough for small construction sites. Where do your customers get the point-cloud from?
Lidar-scan?

my customers get the data from surveying companies.
I have found a nice page here (to the centimeter) I am currently in the process of creating a workflow.

if our house were to be built on this plot of land, 383 m3 of earth would have to be removed.

Adjustment:
Additional beams (1) 50x200 at upper floor. Now the statics work :)
Adjusted length of beams (2) due to new position of beam (4).

Beam (4) should have the red position (and a little bit higher of course) to have full
contact to the wall-panels. But then there is not enough space for the insulation. Mmmh…

The concrete panels (3) should be connected to the foundation for maximum shear-stability.
