Your working plane is set to Auto. See this instruction in the tutorial:

I have now placed the door. It is very clearly not at 0,0,0 but the position in the Placement section is shown as 0,0,0.

@Roy_043, thanks. But see later in the tutorial:
Set the Working Plane to auto so we are not restricted to the ground plane
Following your advice, I set working plane to XY Plane and then back to Auto. I got the below which is what I expected. Should changing from Auto to XY Plane and then back to Auto change what you see?

No. Leave it as XY plane.

The system updates the grid when a command is launched, so you can just use Draft ToggleGrid to refresh the appearance of the grid.

Actually @yorik I've tried several times over the years to get an account on the wiki and it's never worked. It just says I don't have rights to request an account.

I'm going through this tutorial too and would love to be able to correct and sharpen the text as I go.
