(solved) Techdraw Wb on wiki

Post by papyblaise »

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Basic_TechDraw_Tutorial
on this wiki page, many features are not documented, even on the English page
for example :https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=68992
there is also: How to force a special format for example: the Diameter symbol (but also old values: lieues , toises , yards , coudées)

Have you looked at the documentation of the TD WB?:
TechDraw_RadiusDimension
TechDraw_LengthDimension#Properties
TechDraw_ExtensionCustomizeFormat

I do not know if it is possible to override the units set in the preferences:
Preferences_Editor#Units

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/TechDraw_Le ... Properties
Indeed it is documented, but "Length" is misleading because it concerns all dimensions, it would be necessary to delete "Length"

I may misunderstand your intention, but the current solution works just fine IMO. The dimensions have the same properties, they are described in the Properties paragraph on the command reference page of one of the dimension commands, and the reference pages of the other commands link to that paragraph.

After a night of reflection, I propose to add "Setting" in the title and to use a larger font for the heads of lines and in bold, in the chapter "Views"
On the French page I have already added "Réglage" but I don't know how to increase the font or add bold
I did it my way, if I don't have the right, I put it back as befor

Papyblaise, so what you have done is to translate Properties by Proprietes / Réglages, and Réglages = Tunning.

@Roy_043 , would it be worth to change this chapter in the master page from Properties to Properties/Tunning? so everybody will be on the same page.

All objects can be 'tuned' by changing their properties. I don't see a good reason to include the word "tuning" in the heading of the "Properties" paragraph.

I can't stop you from adding this in the French translation, but doing so for only one page is bad idea IMO.

it's not to change anything to the content, but to make reading easier and find information faster by browsing the page, and find this page

A user who does not read the "Properties" paragraph, will most likely also skip the "Properties/Tuning" paragraph. This edit only creates an inconsistency. Please reconsider.

I agree with you Roy.
If today I am one of main translator, tomorrow any new translator may not understand this extra wording if in the master page it is not present, thus my question. But even me, I may forget one day and change again.

so Properties are also used as tuning. It can be emphasis by a sentence but where: on each pages? on a specific page?, and again the question: does the user/reader will find this piece of information?
