PartDesign_SubShapeBinder EDIT.

Post by Bance »

I made an addition to the page PartDesign_SubShapeBinder

It was in ref to this :-https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=66473

If somebody would like to check the edition is OK, I would be obliged.

As I mentioned in the other thread SubShapeBinder could perfectly well reference things in the same body. You could for example select a closed but not filled flat contour and make a pad with the resulting face to fill that hole. Or create a subshapebinder of a whole sketch, move it to a new position and pad for example. Then modifying the support sketch in any way will be reflected in the subshapebinder and its pad. There is no other easy way to achieve that.

I agree, I was toying with the bind mode, and am intrigued by the fact that the SSB can be detached from the source object and then used as a datum object.
