next small thing.
suppose the 2 translations https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:Wha ... xxxxxx.png are just leftovers and should be deleted.

another translation that probably could be deleted https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... r%2F1%2Fen the page was deleted in 2016
# edit 2: added
obsolete translations: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:Wha ... dialog.png, file name is now "Part_FaceColors-dialogue.png" (which btw would not hurt if the resolution was a bit better, it appears to be a bit blurry).

Re: wiki housekeeping
I have worked on the pages in wanted_rest.txt for a couple of days. I am attaching an updated file. You have certainly also worked on it. I don't know what your plans are, but suggest we find a way to divide the work that remains. Note that I'll not work on the list this coming week.

Re: wiki housekeeping
The Screenshots page stops at 0.17. Which is sort of sad really. But that seems to be the fate of certain Wiki pages.
Re: wiki housekeeping
When you edit a translation unit and there is no "Message definition" displayed, see image, you are dealing with an old unit that is no longer used. In theory the original page could be reverted to an older state where the translation unit could come back into use, but that is very unlikely. So IMO such units can be deleted. I have certainly done so while checking the 'wanted' list.heda wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:07 pm next small thing.

Sometimes translation units are indeed left behind after a delete operation. I don't know why this happens. I'll delete that unit and its cousins: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:Pre ... amespace=0.heda wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:07 pm another translation that probably could be deleted https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... r%2F1%2Fen the page was deleted in 2016
These translation units can also be deleted. The blurriness of the image may be due to scaling or zooming at your end.heda wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:07 pm obsolete translations: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:Wha ... dialog.png, file name is now "Part_FaceColors-dialogue.png" (which btw would not hurt if the resolution was a bit better, it appears to be a bit blurry).

Re: wiki housekeeping
right, have wondered a bit why some are without a message,
in any case, have generally tried to stay away from translation units that are not part of an "active page"
have so far done so by looking at links (a translation unit in the list without a belonging page).
here is another thing...
GuiCommandAddon/de seems to do nothing, at least not for https://wiki.freecadweb.org/BIM_Project/de
no particular plans, other than trying to tidy things up a bit here and there following the principle of "a drunk mans walk" mixed with a kids attention span
figure that it does not matter so much what I do, as long as it is correcting something, that should slowly bring things into a better order.
whenever you are on one of your streaks, I simply stay away - so just go ahead and do what is on your mind you whenever it suits you.

Re: wiki housekeeping
comparing https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Arch_Wall/de with https://wiki.freecadweb.org/BIM_Classification/de the GuiCommandAddon/de template does not seem to exist or do what it is supposed to do. maybe it is the same for other languages as well.
Re: wiki housekeeping
The templates exist, but the available translations are just copies of the English version.
We indeed need to look at Template:GuiCommand vs. Template:GuiCommandAddon. The last template is only used for the BIM WB AFAICT. Most editors are unaware of it. GuiCommand is more complex, it f.e. checks for both SVG and PNG icons.
I think the only reason for using two templates would be to distinguish external commands from 'internal' commands. GuiCommandAddon currently does not do that. It places the pages it is used on in the same general command category:
[[Category:Command_Reference{{#translation:}}]]
Currently most external commands are not in in the right category:
https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Category:Command_Reference
https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Category:Ex ... _Reference
Instead of working with two templates we can also consider adding a new attribute (don't know if that is the right word) to GuiCommand:
Ext=1
And based on that attribute use [[Category:Command_Reference{{#translation:}}]] (Ext=0 or missing) or [[Category:External_Command_Reference{{#translation:}}]] (Ext=1).

Re: wiki housekeeping
We need to look at categories in general. Currently there is a tendency to add many categories to a page. This may actually be a bad idea.
Example category:
https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Category:Ex ... orkbenches
In this category we find a number of main WB pages, as you would expect. But also a number of external command reference pages (EM, Fasteners, Plot and Rocket). If all external commands were placed in this category, the list would become very long making it harder to find the main WB pages.

this was not directly fixable (for me), did not take the .svg, suppose something originating from template?

Re: wiki housekeeping
Regarding 'Special:'
I'll delete those.
Regarding 'File:'
I'll delete those as well. Note that there are still over a thousand unused images. I sometimes delete a set. Most unused images added before 2013 have meanwhile been deleted.
https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... 0&offset=0
Several translations exist:
https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:Pre ... amespace=0
There are some other templates with the same 'translation' issue. Not too many thankfully.

It is indeed caused by the template. The Italian version, that should not exist as the template does not contain default texts, does not match the original template.
