A2PLUS joining 3D lines together

Post by Nick1951 »

Hello everybody,
I try to design the crane basement, using A2plus Assembly. Stopped at problem of joining 3 lines together (using point-to-point constraint), unfortunately constrained with other element of whole construction. Could anybody help me with this case ?

Mod edit: Moved to Assembly subforum

Please edit the OP and add you full About info (it should also include version of A2plus you are using).

If I were know how to make Datum Plane :
- lying on the line joining free vertex
- and paralel to x-y plane
I would be find the solution soon.

I' d like to know how to find coordinates the both Vertex of line 1 and line 2. Then it would be easy to add third point at the same 'z' coordinate as both free vertices (I suppose they should have the same 'z').

I'm not familiar with A2Plus, so this is a mere guess: A2Plus tries to change the Placement of the Sketch and that's not possible, because it is attached.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

I haven’t tried to draw parts in A2plus. I normally create/model 3D parts in the Part Design workbench and then import the parts into A2plus. I then use constraints to mate the parts together. I’m not saying you can’t model in A2plus I just saying I have never tried it.

Fortunately I solve the abovemensioned problem in other way (learning is time consuming process ;) )
But have a next pitstop: how to carry a parabola, achieved as a result of cutting the cone by plane to other Sketch (showing of cone face developed view).
