[solved] Constraint direction coul not be reversed

Post by mwlandolsi »

Hello
Open new file then Part WB
insert a cube and set length, for example 100 mm.
apply constraint on edge (see image) and then check "Reverse direction" the direction could not be reversed.

You can select one of the vertical edges for Direction. Then it should be possible to reverse the load.

Is it mandatory to select the edge of direction ? Is there a default orientation or adding direction by vector orientation ?
Yes, I Know, but when you deselect a vertical edge, the direction could also be inverted. But suppose that you do not have a vertical edge, the case of cylindrical beam. What should I do ?

When the Direction field is empty, the force acts in the normal direction. It should be possible to reverse it.

When there are no straight edges/faces to pick, you can create a datum or Draft geometry and use it for direction specification.

On surfaces is what you said kind of expected... But on edges it is kind of weird since it choose a direction but based on what... since the force can act in 360 degrees.
