Hi Bernd,
my old FC0.17 dev-snapshot uses ccx-version 2.12 from FC ..bin/folder.
Here is another test example.
3x4 m frame, rectangular profile 100x60 mm, material calculix-steel.
On FC0.17 not possible to get vertical tangent at fixings for deflection line.
On newest FC0.19 dev-snapshot it works (with new ccx in /bin folder)

I forgot a pic...
Re: Question about beam calculation with calculix
On which ccx version does it give the correct ones?

Re: Question about beam calculation with calculix
ccx2.15 gives good result for beam-test from ickby (z-deflection 0,37 mm).
frame-deflection is too high, calculated 6 mm, should be approx 2 mm.

Re: Question about beam calculation with calculix
Is it possible in a beam analysis, to obtain internal forces? (Normal force, Shear force, Bending Moments) These are what we use for construction structural analysis.
Can we have a beam section other than rectangular or circular?
Thanks

Re: Question about beam calculation with calculix
Yes, but you have to add the SECTION FORCES parameter to the *EL FILE keyword in the .inp file.
FreeCAD supports rectangular, circular and pipe sections. CalculiX offers also elliptical (its special type - circular - is available in FreeCAD), box and general sections. The last one allows you to define an arbitrary profile by providing its area, moments of inertia and Timoshenko shear coefficient. However, there's still one known bug associated with it so it has to be used carefully.
