I too faced the problem of exporting only parts of the project after a mirroring. I find that if one does a simple copy (Parts WB) of the object that all parts are then easily exported. Using version FC .18.

I too have a similar problem. The document window is transparent. The desktop behind FreeCAD is fully visible.
