Re: FC19 and WB Drawing Dimensioning
Hi Chris, WB TechDraw by itself is another discussion. I hope to be able to make good suggestions later. For this moment, the fact is that in my project I need to prepare 500+ drawings, 1/3 of which is ready now, made in FC18, using the obsolete drawing WB. I use a very specific workflow in which I ...

FC19 and WB Drawing Dimensioning
Dear Forum! I was used to WB Drawing and WB Drawing Dimensioning, and quite happy with these WBs. I am also aware that the main developers are of the opinion that WB TechDraw is THE way to go. Although that may be true in the future, at the moment WB TechDraw is not adequate for my goals. Now the tr...

A weird meshing experience
Dear Forum! . CfdOF_test.FCStd . Here (Cut_Pipe&Vane) is a pipe with an internal vane. I want to analyse the flow through the vaned pipe. It is constructed as a pipe (Body_Pipe) from which a vane (Body_Vane) is cut out by means of a boolean operation (Part WB). The vane can be tilted at various ...

Re: 'sub-object shape binder' vs 'shape binder'
Thanks guys, That's more clear now. The point with the wiki (https://wiki.freecadweb.org/PartDesign_SubShapeBinder) is that it does not say how the subshapebinder differs from the shapebinder. It says that the subshapebinder can be moved, but does not say that the shapebinder cannot be moved. So far...

Re: 'sub-object shape binder' vs 'shape binder'
Hmm...🤔 drmacro goes to favorite search engine types "freecad subshapebinder" very first returned url: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/PartDesign_SubShapeBinder The major difference is it can be moved. Well, DrMacro, I found that page, but it does not answer my question. At least, I do not fi...

Re: 'sub-object shape binder' vs 'shape binder'
Thanks Chris, But what is 'object' in yr explanation? I have multiple bodies inside one *FCStd. 'Body' as in the elements generated by Part Design WB. And in the past I used shape binder to make references from one body to another such body. Might I translate your words into the following?: Sub-Obje...

'sub-object shape binder' vs 'shape binder'
Dear Forum,
I found this new feature in FC19: sub-object shape binder
What is it as compared to shape binder?
Tried but cannot find it in the documentation.
Best regards,
Roland

Re: How to get the internal part of a tube
Perhaps I conceived a practical way forward to this problem. This is about a bent inlet pipe to a diffuser with solid inserts inside the gas flow. The approach is as follows: 1/ PartDesign WB: Create parametric models of the gas bodies internal to the pipe elements. Obviously, wall thickness is not ...
