Re: Tech Draw Navigation and general questions

Rough draft to see if moving a page view object move from one page to another works and it does Pick two objects, the first being the wind to move, the second the page to move to pobj.removeView(objm) removes test1 from the Tree, but not from page display. Need to fix that. Closing/reopening page i...

Re: TechDraw Custom Template - Inkscape Version

I am struggling to modify one of the built-in TechDraw templates. I have narrowed the problem down to something to do with the version of Inkscape ?? The only Inkscape version issue I am aware of is the recent switch in DPI. That might affect the layout of the template, but shouldn't affect anythin...

Re: Spline or curve from list of points

Is there a way to create a curve from a list of points? I am trying to model a wing in FreeCAD by sketching the airfoil (cross-section) and then extruding the sketch to create the wing. I am used to SolidWorks, which has a function called "Curve through XYZ" (or something similar) and all...

Re: Tech Draw Navigation and general questions

1) Is there any way to change the mouse navigation on tech draw pages so that it acts like the rest of Freecad? On my box it is set up with sliders so it is difficult to dimension parts that span the page. We've only implemented the default pan/zoom so far. It's been on the list for a while. 2) Is ...

Re: Print is Blank Version: 0.17.13433

Thanks but I'm really confused here. Started a new Part Design project and added a body and involute gear (default values). Dragged the gear into the body. Test1 attached Click print/print preview with body (or anything else highlighted) and get a blank print page. The only way I can get a blank Pr...

Re: dxf exportfrom Techdraw

I try to export a dxf from the techdraw in the attached file, but i only get an empty dxf. Freecad throws me the following errror while exporting: Dxf Export of TechDraw drawings is not implemented yet, except as a python function that only supports some Dxf versions and some geometry. 2882 Big dis...

Re: Graphics on face of project

I can get the same as you but I can't merge my project with the image. What does this mean? Merge using File>Merge project? Get all the objects in the same 3D workspace? If I import it as a SVG all I get is a rectangle Why don't you post the actual SVG and the FCSTD you're trying to combine it with...

To me, a brand new user is going to be overwhelmed by:
3 Body´s
shapebinder
datum geometry points lines and planes
pad from surface
transformed body

That seems more like the curriculum for experienced 016 users looking to transition to 017 - so an intermediate user.
