Re: fcVM workbench

... Thomas, do you encounter any of the issues that John reports? Do you use the latest fcVM version? What version of FreeCAD do you use with fcVM? Just updated fcvm. Two points: 1. After running fcvm from miniforge (with FC0.21.2) and plotting contours with pipeline, the numerical values at the co...

Re: fcVM workbench

As far as I understand the fcvm-wb, FC 0.21 runs in an own miniforge environment. To avoid conflict with my FC0.20 version and the "normal" FEM-wb, I have 2 workspaces in the ../roaming/ folder. Switching works by simply renaming the FC-folders. miniforge_fcvm_environment.png FreeCAD_2x_wo...

... Are the ideastatic results very mesh dependent? Increasing mesh setting in FC to 8mm (global) and 2mm (local) gives PEEQ=1% and CSR=0.13 Ups, the mesh refinement has an influence. When refining the tube mesh by a factor of 1,5, the peeq raises by a factor of 1,44. Interesting. Edit: The plate m...

Aaah, come on :) I checked the flange with ideastatica, both peeq results are approx 0,9%. Thanks for pointing to the ASME-report. When using the local criterion, I get an acceptable p...

Here is the file.
BTW: this is the correct flange of the mast who fell from the tower,
as posted previous. The other one was from a different site, my fault.

Re: fcVM workbench

Just updated fcvm. This is what I get. There is no contour visible in the CSR-plot (both with result/pipeline object) The max CSR-values are different, see curve plot and result window. Maybe I did something wrong. I will have a closer look at the weekend. You can visualize the stress-triaxiality in...
