Re: fcVM workbench
... I can't reproduce this. For me: 1) first run fcVM and inspect VTK pipeline - OK 2) run CCX after fcVM and inspect VTK pipeline - OK 3) run fcVM again and inspect VTK pipeline - OK can you show your step-by-step workflow from a fresh start? PS: the swivel widget is blocking the top of the color ...

Re: fcVM workbench
... 1. If you start FC0.21.2 and don’t activate fcVM, but use CCX do you then see the numerical values? 2. Let me have a look. I may have to clear some results when deactivating fcVM. How do you quit fcVM before running a “normal” (CCX?) analysis? To 1: Yes, values are visible To 2: After running f...

Re: fcVM workbench
... Thomas, do you encounter any of the issues that John reports? Do you use the latest fcVM version? What version of FreeCAD do you use with fcVM? Just updated fcvm. Two points: 1. After running fcvm from miniforge (with FC0.21.2) and plotting contours with pipeline, the numerical values at the co...

Re: fcVM workbench
As far as I understand the fcvm-wb, FC 0.21 runs in an own miniforge environment. To avoid conflict with my FC0.20 version and the "normal" FEM-wb, I have 2 workspaces in the ../roaming/ folder. Switching works by simply renaming the FC-folders. miniforge_fcvm_environment.png FreeCAD_2x_wo...

... Are the ideastatic results very mesh dependent? Increasing mesh setting in FC to 8mm (global) and 2mm (local) gives PEEQ=1% and CSR=0.13 Ups, the mesh refinement has an influence. When refining the tube mesh by a factor of 1,5, the peeq raises by a factor of 1,44. Interesting. Edit: The plate m...

... At what load factor is that? The values I showed were at LF=1.18. At LF=1.0 the values are smaller. ... Are the ideastatic results very mesh dependent? Increasing mesh setting in FC to 8mm (global) and 2mm (local) gives PEEQ=1% and CSR=0.13 Load factor is 1,0 for idea/fc model. So M=10,3 kNm, Q...

... ... and still ending up with an outcome (CSR=0.63) that raises questions about the strength of the connection. Aaah, come on :) I checked the flange with ideastatica, both peeq results are approx 0,9%. Thanks for pointing to the ASME-report. When using the local criterion, I get an acceptable p...
