Re: Strange translations for some WB names in preferences
I thought we had such a discussion and settled on not translating WB names because they're actually names. In French: Draft -> Tirant d'eau for French, it's the third or fourth times it's coming back. It's coming from the old wb Ship. How? It's a mystery at my level and I already pointed out it to ...

Re: Strange translations for some WB names in preferences
Those interested in the translation into German agreed to not translate workbench names. And so we don't have to decide e.g. if Draft has to be translated as Entwurf/Entwerfen or Zeichnung/Zeichnen.

Re: CAD_weekly-builds-36480-2024-03-18-conda-Linux-x86_64-py311.AppImage does not start
The FreeCAD_weekly-builds-36487-2024-03-18 for macOS x86 seems to work fine again.

The macOS x86 version also doesn't start; at least on my system (macOS 10.15).

Re: Issue #5694 Broken View
Which is just as @FBXL5 learnt. I guess the reason is that an interrupted view is to scale, it's just not all there. Yes. I was thinking of the dimension. If a dimension is created from 2D edges of an interrupted view it won't show the true length and you also have to use a fake dimension. I think ...

Re: Add hole or shaft fit - duplicate entries in dropdown list
It would be nice to have the complete pair of tolerances in the dropdown list, at least, to see if the hidden tolerance varies with each entry (if such hard coded pairs make sense anyway).

Re: Issue #5694 Broken View
Is that iso standard special or artistic freedom special? I haven't seen zigzag sections in dimension lines on DIN or ISO conform drawings yet, but my knowledge is quite old school. I have learnt to underscore a dimension measuring geometry that is not to scale, but this doesn't apply to broken vie...

Re: How to create this angle constraint with the Dimension tool?
I want to create the following angle constraint: SnipScreenshot-3f107d.png With Sketcher ConstrainAngle I select the line, invoke the tool and confirm the value. Can I do the same with the Dimension tool? No idea? A confirmation that it's not possible would also be appreciated. Confirmed. But as th...

Re: FPA letter about the future, some thoughts
this feature of direct importing dimensions from sketches to drawing is available in a big CAD... That doesn't make it more valuable. See the link above if you are interested and want to understand. I did before I answered. I still think it is just a gimmick. It might be useful to some, you include...

Re: FPA letter about the future, some thoughts
That's why, IMO, it is necessary to shortcut all the chain by "connecting" directly dimensions of sketches to special new imported dimensions in TD views. Reading dimensional constraints to copy them into techDraw views sounds more like a gimmick to me that is needed by some users. I usua...
