Re: CAM Simulator fails
Hi all, Anyone an idea ? Tnx, AK This happens for me if I close a file and then reopen it, or any other file, without closing completely out of FreeCAD. Once a file has been closed no further attempts at simulation run. If you completely close the program and open a new copy , simulation will then ...

Re: 3dSurface path goes back over already cut material
Hi everyone, I'm going to be milling quite large 3d surfaces, but notice that on a 3dSurface path, when using a multipass, that the path goes back over already cut surface. With a large surface to cut this will be very inefficient. Is the 3dSurface path not able to optimise this? To illustrate what...

Re: Wanted freecad expert to finish bracket part
Hi everyone. I'm still getting nowhere quickly with this design, and it is probably a brick wall that I am finding one of the most frustrating creative barriers I have ever had in my life. :( EDITED UPDATE: Playing with your file further it is the Group Object "Lego Plate Bracket" that is...

Re: How to deburr selected edges only?
Hi , Further to the apparent issue I tried an extremely small and unrealistic fillet between two adjoining edges to check if the de-burr failure might be a precision issue. A 0.001mm fillet will actually process correctly, but a square edge will not. ( I could only select the fillet with "Finis...

Re: How to deburr selected edges only?
Hi to all, what if I need to deburr only specific edges of my object? The deburr operation seems to work if - I select exactly one edge; - I select a closed path. However, if I select a sequence of edges and then I click on the deburr-op, the command doesn't work. Any clue? :( This is my experience...

Re: Path WB and 4th axis
Now, it looks like the tool is running all along the model (X-axis), then up on Z, back to X=0, then down on Z, turn on A, then repeat. Is there a way to have the tool cutting on the back to avoid useless moves ? Apologies , I missed this post at the time, only saw it as a notification when I logge...

When you are married with child, 5 mins easily became 5 hours... :D Here we go! SLIDE 1 - Freecad world vs Real life Selection_7640.jpg When making a single exemplar of a shape, Freecad-Path works great! Unfortunately, for small/medium size of batches you would prefer a more smart way to deal with ...

Re: Path WB and 4th axis
Hi all, I have a milling machine with axis X, Z only + a rotary axis. Currently it's mapped on the Y axis of my Arduino UNO but I will upgrade to a 32bit board to have true 4 axis management. This specific config (no Y axis) is because I only need to mill parts that basically look like cylinders. I...
