This is how i handle it, i use the Draft arrays very extensive. Any assembly without an array tool is hard to position and very hard to maintain.

Why not just rework the toolbar, it is anyway a mess. Just said, a torus is very common primitive for e.g. o-rings. For me i just use PartDesign WB one, but i can not guess, if others use just the Part WB one.

I don't understand why single slice doesn't works properly. It works properly, but there is a self intersection. See in the screenshot, the all faces goes through other faces.
