Re: "Box" missing in Part workbench

"At any rate I hear that with release 1.0 a new PDF document will be issued." would not hold my breath over that one... fc, afterall, largely is a hobby project and the motto at least used to be "it is done when it is done" anyhow, if you are looking for an offline wiki, not sure...

Re: Error when importing a step file

indeed this is a strange one - especially if wmayer can make it work with a occ 7.6.3 this is probably more complex to hunt down than what first meets the eye clearly there are differences between win/linux and different ways of compiling. i'm on lm 21.1 for me an appimage with v0.21.0 and occ 7.6.3...

Re: Error when importing a step file

oki, the plot thickens... the successful route for opening the .step was with gmsh 4.8.2 / occ 7.5.1 on my box the failing occ version is 7.6.3 so now things start to make sense again, it is probably an upstream bug in occ-step import between 7.5.1 to 7.6.3. so it would probably work with an older f...

Re: Error when importing a step file

so, you're on win - here is one avenue of not using vari-cad if you search your fc installation there should be a "gmsh.exe" in there (if not it can be installed separately). that program will open the .step, and one can rewrite it to .step as well (and it opens in fc). but the .step writt...

Re: Immediate Crash on install of 0.21

yeah, a damn shame that one has to watch out for these things where ever one goes on the net/mobile etc. it is probably just going to get worse as we go along, but hopefully fc is never going to be truly attractive target for these activities, but who knows. probably a good metric is that when it co...

Re: Immediate Crash on install of 0.21

no clue of what is going on, in general most people are able to uninstall/install without issues. woh, time out - you are downloading from where if you now get a v0.21.1? https://www.freecad.org/downloads.php clearly is v0.21.2... there has been fake dwl-links out there, if i'm not misstaken... if i...

Re: "Box" missing in Part workbench

Any ideas where this object (and many others) now live? (you seem to have the on your screen) hm - unless you unintentionally have messed around with different settings and toolbar placements, they should be there. one reason could be screen resolution / window size, since the underlying gui-frame ...

Re: Is there a reference manual for the complete list of the Python command in FreeCAD ?

if the question is has this improved in a meaningful manner in the last 2 yrs? no, not really - but for fc, the question of "api-docs" is in most cases not the right question :-). rather than using api-docs, use examples or existing code instead - and there are plenty of examples/existing ...

Re: "Box" missing in Part workbench

na, not missing - this is a classic trip-point (or a test of how good one is interpreting intention rather than specificity :-)) part_wb_box_cube.png for whatever reason since probably decades by now, the user interface calls it a "cube", whereas the source code name for the same is "...
