[Solved] Re: FreeCAD on macOS became utterly slow

wmayer wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 11:18 am But do you must set it to achieve correct behaviour?
No it runs perfectly now without. It was in the beginning of macOS 12 where I needed it. Looo has in the meantime added some specific environment variables and Apple has made some updates too. So everything ok now!

Re: FreeCAD on macOS became utterly slow

You should try to get a new build that uses the old libraries: Python 3.9.13, Qt 5.12.9, (and rather unlikely OCC 7.5.3) My first guess was not so bad: it was the "Use software OpenGL" (which I had to set when the current version of macOS was introduced). The problem was, that changing it...

Re: Should the Shapebinder Trace support be 'True' by default

Can someone write a few lines of why someone would want this False. Imagine a 4 cylinder engine. You want to model pistons etc. only once, but you want them repeated in different places. If you search old forum discussions, you will see, that I was of the same opinion as you when the ShapeBinders w...

I appreciate if people try to solve their issues themselves, it usually helps a lot in learning. On the other hand it bears the danger of acquiring bad habits.

Re: Does importing too many classes (definitions) can make the execution much longer?

As soon as it is enough to need slower memory, e.g. swap space on a hard disc, it will make a program slower.

Re: Where I should look?

As I said, all this worked great, except for the point that in one sketch the solver still nags 4 DOFs for no apparent reason, despite my many kind words. I assume that the reason for the prompt is to look in the Report View. To say it more drastically than Carlo: no file - no help. Missing DOFs ar...
