Sketcher copy/paste grayed out

I would like to copy/paste an object between sketches. (I know how to copy/paste within a sketch, and I know how to copy and paste the whole sketch), but I would like to copy/paste between sketches, maybe like this: https://wiki.freecad.org/Copying_Objects or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH...

Re: Circle centers

Thank you all for your very kind replies. I will take the risk of finally confessing that I could not understand the issue with circles: Bance attached a file with the 'circle centers' issue unchanged. I can see that objects were constrained to the origin but I cannot see that it changed anything. I...

Re: Circle centers

Bance, Thanks, All sketches/entries in the tree seem to say "Support XY_plane, all seem to be viewed from "TOP", I double-checked this and made a new circle but it had the same thing, created a new sketch in XY and added a circle, same issue. I can see approximately what you are sayin...

Re: Circle centers

I have attached the file.

The small part would not pad in sketch007 so I copied it and constrained it to the origin, it still would not pad. This is the one with the rim-centers also.

Many thanks, Paul

Circle centers

I apologize in advance for what is very likely a dumb question, but is there a reason I can draw circles in a sketch, in sketcher, with their centers correctly marked in the circle center, then when I exit the sketch, in 'part design' and 'tech draw' workbenches the circle centers have jumped to the...

Re: Grouping in FreeCad 0.20

@Bance: Thanks. I am just returning to this now, many weeks later after many distractions, but freecad has been working well for me and I am getting to know it. I like it. You asked a question about videos I had watched: Previously I had done a DuckDuckGo search "freecad group objects". My...

Re: Grouping in FreeCad 0.20

I can't quite fully understand what you wrote, e.g. what is an "OP". The link I gave was simply the top hit in a google search for "freecad group objects". Google chose it. I thought I had originally asked whether grouping would be beneficial in the example file that I had given,...

Re: Grouping in FreeCad 0.20

Overal, Thanks guys for your excellent advice, there was a serious dose of user ignorance regarding the green tip and timeline. However, if grouping of objects is potentially beneficial in turning individual "blocks" on and off, in my tree, I would still be curious how to get a new group t...

Re: Grouping in FreeCad 0.20

Shalmeneser,
Thanks for all the good advice.

I tried changing DatumPlane BottomFace-Block3 from z=-9.52 to -9.525, and got a red exclamation point adjancent to "Pocket_Block3_Slot. So I changed it back.

Best regards, Paul

Grouping in FreeCad 0.20

Hello FreeCad people, Its time, I think, to learn a little more about the quirks of FreeCad 0.20 29177 )6/13/2022) With the very kind help of folks here, I had generated, I think, a reasonable model that was essentially finished (Stage-Test10, attached). It appears that, with kind help, I have conqu...
