Re: Drilling: can't set peck retract, problem Z rapids

While writing the post processor for my control (dynapath delta 40), I too am struggling with all the "G0 Zxx" entries. Every time a fixture is declared, operation starts, and operation ends, this line is inserted. We need more control over when and what is declared here. To satisfy my con...

Re: Beta -- DynaPath Delta PP

Okay -- After further investigation it seems this is now broken in both Linux and Windows on the very latest "weekly development build". That's a better problem to have because if I solve it once it should be solved in both places ;) UPDATE: Issue resolved. It was a case of variable SCOPE....

Re: Beta -- DynaPath Delta PP

Not sure why, but found an issue with the post processor on Linux using the latest AppImage. File "/home/dhenderson/FreeCAD/delta_post.py", line 465, in parse elif param == "Z" and (c.Parameters["Z"] == pathobj.ClearanceHeight.Value and '_TempObject' object has no attri...

Beta -- DynaPath Delta PP

I now have a working post processor that caters to the Dynapath Delta 40, 50 and 60 Control's. It is a work in progress and will likely require further tweaks as the FreeCAD Path engine continues to evolve. I've created several FreeCAD models with G81-G83 drill cycles, internal and external arcs, in...

Re: Expert Feedback needed: LeadInOut dressup

Here is an example of a lead in move compensating for the tool radius at the start and end of a path. With modern controls it is recommended to use this style of cutter compensation. Without it you will lose functionality. Such as feed rate optimization on contours. CFC on 840D for instance: https:...

Re: DynaPath Delta PP Assistance Requested.

What is the risk of modifying path script files such as PathPost.py? I’m assuming the biggest issue is losing my edits after the next version bump? I’ve corrected the fixture Z path output by modifying pathpost.py, will look at the drill op next. Also found an issue in G83 where it ignores hole #1 b...

Re: DynaPath Delta PP Assistance Requested.

I'm attaching another example. I've included the model and the gcode output. I've annotated inside the gcode file where the issues are. I'm also including my Dynapath Delta PP file -- it is a WIP so if you intend to use it, please do so at your own risk.

Re: DynaPath Delta PP Assistance Requested.

bmsaus4ax -- I tried to run the models in your file but the only one that would work with my PP was JOB002. The error had to do with how I'm using the document Label to name the program file. JOB and JOB001 didn't have a document label assigned. All that aside, JOB002 inserted the same two Z axis li...

DynaPath Delta PP Assistance Requested.

Hi All, I've been making great progress with the PP now that my spindle control has been rebuilt and re-installed in my vertical mill. With a now working CNC Mill, I've found a few issues with the post that required further modification in order to get things working properly. I now have the followi...
