Re: unit of U in paraviewer?

I get crazy high values in my simulation to the power of 14 while the outlet speed set is only 5m/s Even if your simulation had somehow gotten set to nm/s (unlikely), you would still only be seeing 10^9 or so. Sounds like your simulation diverged/blew up. Did you use a velocity inlet? You can get w...

Here, so that I don't forget something stupid yet again. It's a bit out of date (git push is not behaving itself), but any supporting files should be new enough to at least let things run.

That is, in fact, exactly what I had intended to put in that post, but evidently failed to do.

I did try switching to applying the event filter to the main window. It seemed to ignore all my mouse clicks, but crashes as soon as I pressed a key.

Re: 2nd eventFilter crashes FreeCad

Shoot. I thought that wasn't a direct dependency because it wasn't barfing if I didn't import it. Sorry about that.

I'll give QMainWindow a try and see if it'll get a high enough percentage of events to be a viable option, fix those other couple issues, and see what happens.

2nd eventFilter crashes FreeCad

If I create an eventFilter, delete it, and then create a second eventFilter, FreeCAD crashes. It doesn't matter whether I use the delete_recorder() function or simply reload the file. The problem is likely somewhere in the filter handling (since it initializes fine), but it isn't crashing for every ...

0.20 crashing when event filter installed

I've been trying to get an event filter installed on the FreeCAD application to send a signal with information about the event, and it works sometimes, but it is highly prone to crashing when I run the function that installs the event filter (make_recorder() ). It happens somewhere between 50% and 7...

Re: Interesting discussion on Twitter about FCA and Teaching FCAD in schools

I don't know if the way schools/universities operate elsewhere is significantly different, but I know in the US teachers generally have substantial autonomy for how they teach the things they're required to teach. So if you can convince them that open source software is worth using, they'll use it–e...

Re: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) workbench using OpenFOAM

What specifically ? I think the issue is something like the exporter is failing to move down one tree level when trying to export a body. There was someone a while back who was trying to export a FreeCAD brep file to gmsh and when they had the body selected upon clicking "export", it just...

Re: Getting OpenFOAM result using python script

That should be pretty straightforward. OpenFOAM saves its results to a file (or files) in the case directory, so you can do a typical file read to get into them. They're put under folders numbered with the timestep (e.g., the 0 folder holds the initial conditions). I don't remember if CfdOF imports ...

Re: Why is this script crashing FreeCAD?

Downloading the .dmg from the homebrew page seems to have worked. I'll find out later if that caused any issues.

0.20 did indeed fix the crashing.
