Re: GSoC 2023: Unified Measurement Facility
Hello, today I have tried Mayo https://github.com/fougue/mayo a CAD viewer utility which uses OpenCascade to work. It has some great utilities to measure and I thought it can be useful to take a look at.
I hope it helps

Re: Competition: kinematic simulation of a coupling gear
If you want to do pure 2D mechanism analysis I recommend this piece of software (https://github.com/KmolYuan/Pyslvs-UI). It is a bit hard to model linear joints but it works great and very quickly. Maybe in a future Sketcher gets better and has more functionalities, but right know I would use this t...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
Thanks JamesLiu. I just downloaded 0.2 and checked. This error vanished and new error started. I will check further. For information, the error is: Running the Python command 'MBdyn_AddStaticBody' failed: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files\FreeCAD 0.20\Mod\freecad-mbdyn-...

Re: Sketcher new feature : Insert on line
Very interesting tool, could be very useful to shape joints between metal or wooden sheets with more connections types as in this old macro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5_IIr6b4IU). Maybe adding a dovetail joint (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dovetail_joint]) would also be interesting to have i...

Re: Sketcher : Ctrl-C/X Ctrl-V to copy/paste/export/import
Great feature very useful when working with splines or similar shapes that are repetitive to create over and over. If in a future works across sketches it would a huge improve in Sketcher Workbench. Congratulations for your great features in Sketcher. In my opinion this is one of the parts of FreeCA...
